The 12 Hour Photo Project 3/25 - Till the day I die I'm-a touch the sky

The 12 Hour Photo Project (Part Four)- 3/25/06
Today was Hilton Head Island day, Part Two of Amy's Wreakin' Havoc World Tour. Rockin' the South, y'all! I was too tired by 7pm so it's basically a 10 hours, but who the freak cares, right?
Unto the images, baby! (Clickie)

Here I come Tamaldge Bridge!
Yeah I was pretty lost by the time I got to Hilton Head, I pretty much just drove and drove. At one point I really needed to pull out the good ol' map!
Stopped by Longhorn to have lunch. Yummy bread.
On my way back to SAV. U-Haul means only one thing to me right now: The fateful moment when I finally get to move out of Sav and into [insert Amy's next destination here] sometime this year or next.
Ummmm, yeah. I guess this is 4 pm for me. You should never point and drive. It does not work.
Fabric searchin' at Hancock's.
The day's purchases, plus the Rock Top Chicken on my stomach.

Staring at my alarm clock after listening to the most idiotic commercial on the radio (yes, look at all my earrings!).

I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee
My mother dreamt that I had come back home to Puerto Rico - with the sole purpose of getting married! I arrived with my wedding dress (she described it in detail, basically a white two-piece A-line dress, VERY MUCH EXACTLY how I actually want my real wedding gown). The husband-to-be had an European air to him, tall, nicely built body (please God!), very polite and respectful, spoke Spanish, but he did not look Hispanic or American. Just.. foreign. But oh so very handsome.
She was fussing with me because as beautiful as the gown was, my hair was a mess (like it usually always is--and she does argue with me about this lol), and I didn't have a drop of make up on my face (which I never do, because dear god I have no idea how to put make-up on). And apparently I didn't want anybody to attend the wedding. Nobody in my family was there, save her. THAT I will not do on my real wedding.
*sigh* Where is my handsome European husband-to-be at?!?!?!?
Will post today's 12 Hour in a few minutes. Unfortunately, the set isn't as interesting as previous ones. I spent the day in the car, mostly.
I am totally hooked to Kanye West's Touch the Sky, Beyonce's Check on it and Carly's You're so vain.

The 12 Hour Photo Project 3/24 - or I smell like Dodge Neon

The 12 Hour Photo Project (Part Tres)- 3/24/06
In order to forever remember this eventful day (in which I wreaked havoc in the city of Savannah by renting a car), I decided to pursue the 12 Hour Project once more. I really really enjoy doing these, for me it reinforces the value of "documentary/journalistic" photography: with each image we are brought back to one specific second (or nth of a second) in life, real, unadultered, raw life, the essence of all that we are as human beings. With each image I cannot help but give thanks to our God above for allowing me to live just one more second, just one more image, so that I can saviour all of these beautiful, quirky, funny things that at times I may take for granted, but that remind me just how truly lucky I am to be experiencing all of it.
But enough introspective crap, unto the 12 Hour Photo Project 3/24: Wreakin' Havoc in the Coastal Empire set!
You can sorta see my other fabulous necklace!
The Dodge Neon. It runs a'ight.

Dolphin Tour headquarters.

I found the back of the sign more interesting than its ad.

Awesome little restaurant by Tybee Beach. These little balls hung from all over the ceiling.

Coastal house by the Lighthouse. Have always wanted to take a picture of this little swing bench.

This is Meghan's Gypsy, who has had some surgeries over the past few weeks because of an infection he caught. One of the very few dogs I truly like. Hope you get better Gypsy!
Who the heck told me to venture into Abercorn on a Friday at 6pm?!?

Napping. Funny how the grain and lighting capture the haziness when you awake a little too suddenly from your much deserved sleep.

Trying to expand Star Magnolia...

So I applied for The North Carolina Handmaidens' Handmade Market to be held on Raleigh on May 6, 2006. I have never been outside of Savannah ever since I came here and I believe this is an excuse to visit the area. Heck, even if I don't get in the show, I still want to visit all the crafty people farther north. Anybody wanna come with me? Roomie? :D
Problem is.. I have NOTHING READY! Not even for my beloved Mutation!
I really want to make some Gocco fabric prints from my You are sew nice image. We'll see. Just two weeks left. Stressing.

12 Hour Photo Project 3/12

The 12 Hour Photo Project (Part Deux)- 3/12
Easy: Photographed my surroundings at the top of the hour, every hour for 12 consecutive hours on Friday, March 12, 2006. Didn't quite finish it because life happened. And this is the result. Enjoy.

Clickie for the rest...
(Yes, skipped 10AM because I was in a Hostess meeting and I don't think my manager would've liked seeing me pay more attention to my little camera than her.)

(That's Bard on my MSN screen)

I am Paula Deen.

I thought I hated St. Patrick's Day, but really, how can I when adventures like these happen to me:
Yesterday Friday I had agreeded to cover this girl's shift at 4pm because her schedule conflicted with her other job. So I said, cool, it's only three hours since we're closing early because of the Irish Madness. I had to work at the door with Whitney where reservations are taken. At one point, a guy drives by the street in his convertible and asks us, from the car, if he could make a reservation. Whitney asked, For how many?. Drunken Motherfucker In Convertible answered... and dear God, thank you for this.... he said, For me and you baby, for me and you!
How freakin hot is that. I am so snatching my next husband during St. Patrick's. I mean... come on...For me and you baby, for me and you. Classic.
Extra points for creativity.

blue bunny!
My friend Eryka made me the most beautiful and awesome necklaces I have ever owned in my life (second to MAriola's flower necklace I lost SO long ago and have never been able to recover, Hint hint mariola).
Unfortunately, I have a crap ass picture to show. I promise I will take a better picture of it and of the other two necklaces which I will sell at Mutation because... they have octopi in them. Dear God in Heaven. She totally made my day (that and previous post's fine gentlemen).
Click below for said crap ass picture ( I do look cute.. in a funny kinda way), featuring a blue bunny, a green die (dice?), five coral stars, and lots of sterling silver yumminess!

I have such a weird nose, don't I?

Ahh the joys of catholicism and alcohol
Savannah is packed with crazy drunken motherfuckers.
And to prove this point I will post this little ditty:
As I was unlocking my bike from the sign post on the sidewalk, one of two Southern drunken guys (35 years+) says, I like bikes, I want to get on that (my) basket. I smile slightly to myself, 'cause really, how hot is that.
Determined to outdo his companion, Drunken Motherfucker #2 says, and this, my friends, I will cherish forever and ever, he says with thick Southern accent, Can I be your tire?
And I'm quite sure he meant to say, Can I take you out to dinner, my fair lady? or perhaps, May we go for a dance and a shag? But due to his drunken stupidity, his greasy, slurry mouth could only form Can I be your tire? at that specific moment, thus eternally losing the chance of ever befriending (and perhaps bedding) me.
So here's to you, Drunken Motherfucker #2. May you find that special lady who will shag you like the great tire that you are.

Swell!!

The dining room table of my dreams!
And I have no space to put it! But no worries! It will be the main attraction at my future super awesome apartment!
I got this gem at a local junk shop/antique store for $40! It is marvelous and I love it with all my heart. I have always wanted a 50s style table and finally I have it!
I'll probably store it somewhere around here... I am so gonna need a U-haul when I move outta here.
Look at the detail! LOVELY!

Old dusty tiles

So tired. Finally had some time for myself... and for Project Runway! GO CHLOE! :D
Above shots: SCAD Security restroom. For some reason it reminds me of old 1940s movies. Dunno.
Began posting fliers for Mutation around town. Very excited.
Apparently, I speak in very short short sentences.

Tree with gorgeous bell-like flowers in which a thousand giant mutant bees attacked me at once when I stepped over to look at the discarded old chairs (center bottom).

I only sing the truth
Oh man, don't you hate it when when you dip further into the paths of the Eternal Gates of Hell? For instance, today at the Kroger self-checkout (do you "check yourself out"?) I noticed one of these retarded celebrity magazines with Sheryl Crow on the cover, undoubtedly the article was about her recent cancer diagnosis (or something, I don't really care about her anymore).
And so my really perverse mind instantly thought, Haa, maybe she got it from Lance! Har har! Ahh laughs were a-plenty. I should've said it out loud. Wonder what kind of reaction I would've gotten.
On other news, I signed up for Netflix. Maybe now I can catch up on years of film neglect.
Spectacular photos from yesterday's photoshoot to be uploaded soon.

Shining through

I don't understand about complementary colors
And what they say
Side by side they both get bright
Together they both get gray
But he's been pretty much yellow
And I've been kinda blue
But all I can see is
Red, red, red, red, red now
What am I gonna do
I don't understand about
Diamonds and why men buy them
What's so impressive about a diamond
Except the mining
And it's dangerous work
Trying to get to you too
And I think if I didn't have to
Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill myself doing it
Maybe I wouldn't think so much of you
I've been watching all the time
And I still can't find the tack
And I wanna know is it okay
Is it just fine
Or is it my fault
Is it my lack
I don't understand about
The weather outside
Or the harmony in a tune
Or why somebody lied
There's solace a bit for submitting
To the fitfully cryptically true
What's happened has happened
What's coming is already on its way
With a role for me to play
I don't understand
I'll never understand
But I'll try to understand
There's nothing else I can do

Adrienne Lily

Yeah, ignore that last entry. I want to continue photography. :P
The lovely half Spanish girl you see above is Adrienne and holy cow she looks gorgeous! Must thank Lindsay Nix for the wonderful job she did with makeup and hair. I'm really really pleased (even though there's some skin-retouching I need to do).
I am falling on sleep on the keyboard. There images from other shoots I have done in the past two weeks, But I also haven't gotten decent sleep in those last two weeks. So I'm napping.
Clickie for more images.
Enjoy!
