Oh baby it feels fine

Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my entire intellectual life, I have beat my business-oriented brother's sorry ass in the gruesome, bloody battlefield that is Monopoly. Oh how he cried like a little girl, begging me to not charge the $1000 rent for that sexy hotel I had so adoringly built on New York Avenue. I will recollect that sweet sound as I lay myself to sleep tonight.
This is a sign of things to come in 2007. The Chosen One has the upper hand now. Vengeance is a sweet thing, baby.
MUUUUUUAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
BTW, Gosh I look horrible in that pic. Who cares, I won!

Go or go ahead.

Because I absolutely love to neglect you guys I will post two pictures of crafty things I've been working on (gasp! amy? working on her business!). Above is a work in progress view of the new Star Magnolia logo! It was very important for the logo to have some sort of texture to it, and after much fiddling (unsuccessfully of course) with Illustrator I decided to just sew the whole thing up and work from there. The clouds have changed since this picture. But the basic premise is there. What do y'all think?

Cute little brooches I made while "working" at the store. I'm a big supporter of brooches. A few weeks ago I picked up a handful of random jewelry findings at a local junk shop:

Ooooh what will I do with all these! It was fun to arrange them all together. They even looked more cohesive (ugh critique word).
I have big plans for this picture (or similar like these):

Postcards anybody? :)
My friend Boricua took me out fishing today for the very first time in my entire life... but more about that exciting adventure under the cut

Also, I shall move to NYC (at least for a little while) sometime next year. That's it.

Of signs and King Streets...CHARLESTON!

We went, We conquered, we saw cute stuff. Charleston was quite lovely and such a quaint town, or city. It felt good to be surrounded by buildings and wide streets with heavy traffic. Haven't seen that in a year. We visited so many cute indie boutiques that I forgot to take pictures of many of them (but I do have their websites!). I should be going to bed, but not before posting a few pictures here, and then some on Flickr.

This is where all the main shopping is done. An ecclectic mix of national chain stores and smaller boutiques. Worth the long walk.

I spotted this goooorgeous sewing machine from a second floor window and decided to go up, whether it was an apartment or a store, I didn't care. Much to our surprise, it was a studio where Adrian and Heather form Spinster Designs to reconstruct old vintage clothing and turn them into quirky new garments. Needless to say, we were so jealous of their studio.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the cutest attic EVER. IT HAS AN OWL!!!

How cute is that.

Unaware of my dreams and aspirations, Caroline at LulaKate boutique told me I should pack up my bags and head on to New York City as she did once three days after wrapping up college. Somehow I take this as a sign.

Then I saw this advice on a bathroom stall...and for some reason my forehead started hurting... probably from all these darn signs being hurled at my direction.
MORE PICS AT MY FLICKR!
