Freckles of snow
Geez Luoise, sometimes I can break the RIDICULOUSLY CUTE AND ADORABLE meter...of silliness. Yes IT SNOWED! AND RAINED!! IN VEGAS!! OMGZZZZZZ Le brother and I headed to Mount Charleston for a little snow time, it was AWESOME. Gotta love that snow! So much fun was had, especially since I Was decked out in awesome clothing, starting with my incredible long metropolitan winter coat, thrifted at Savers for only $9.99, sweet. Cute undershirt and gloves from Target of course, I raid that store like Vikings looking for young virgins.
Wait...what?
ANyways, the storm left behind a beautiful thick fog all over the Vegas valley. It was just stunning to look up at the casinos and not see the top at all. Here is the Mandalay Bay covered in a deathly fog.
Brother and I photographed most of the buildings that night, it was surreal. Without a doubt, this is the Vegas you NEVER see (it hasn't rained in almost two months, had the rain not been freezing cold, I would've grabbed my galoshes and twirl abouts like my good ol Gene Kelly).
Speaking about Winter coats, I MAY have mentioned I am FINALLY sewing my own this year. Mind you, I suck at sewing garments, but I am doing it and so far...it fits. Still haven't tackled the sleeves. I shudder just thinking about it. This is me modeling the pieces and a very heavy and sharp pair of scissors. Also, THAT'S MY CHRISTMAS TREE!!!! :D
Last, but certainly not least, I present to you Amy Nieto's very first grown-up girl boots! For 25 years I have longed to own a fantastic pair of boots, but growing up in a Caribbean island it wasn't really ALL that necessary at all. I LOVE TO LIVE IN AMERICA!
Got them on sale for $120 at Timberland. These are SOOO comfortable, and that was my selling point.
Oh my exquisite darlings, I have SO much to show you, but sadly, there are 700 wedding pictures I must edit through from a most fun and sweet wedding I photographed on Thanksgiving weekend. So this is a very quick update on all things Amy.
I've had a very fun couple of weeks. It's amazing how fun things can be once you accept where you are, instead of moping about how life is not as you planned 10 years ago. I still dislike Vegas, but why not have fun while I'm here. And on that note, why worry about men that will never happen. Amy Nieto is the Perpetual Single Girl and by God I will hold on to that title till... I dunno, give up and marry one of my ex-boyfriends, because it's easy.
Whatevs. That's all for tonight... heck, for the next two weeks. I AM SO BUSY! ARRGHHHHHH.

Love the snow pic. How do you have such crazy cool winter duds when you've always lived somewhere warm. You're fashionably prepared for anything. :) Can't WAIT to see the new jacket too. How ambitious. Can't even imagine. Great find on the boots too. Have fun editing and Merry Christmas if I don't get a chance to pop in before the holidays. :)

Haha that's a good question. I think it stems from longing for so long to dress up in cozier clothing. Though I am ALL about my 80 degree weather, a secret spot in my heart was occupied by the all the beautiful winter coats I would see worn by American actresses on film and tv. And oh the scarves, how quaint.
So now, I am going wild with Winter wear. ^_^

Hey there girl, you haven't missed much. My clone's on backorder too so I've probably only posted twice since I changed blogs. Ugh! Hoping things slow down after the holidays. Si tu supieras que eso de las botas me pasa a mi. Las adoro, pero chica, usarlas en PR?? ah...sólo en Diciembre-febrero. Me encantan con "leggins", túnicas y/o faldas. Pero quiero comprarme unas...para estas navidades, jeje, aún no he hecho presupuesto para las compritas navideñas, ya mismo. Hace fríito aquí, un fresco bien bueno. Sigo aquí. Tal vez visite NJ en marzo.
Amy, me alegro elijas actitudes que te convienene, así no nos estancamos, y vivimos el día al máximo.

You are adorable in that pic!! Also, love all the moody Las Vegas photos. Oh, and congrats on the boots. I got my first "big girl" pair 2.5 years ago and have never looked back. Awesome.
