The Fog Clears

laurelhurstpond.jpg

It's 2:56 pm on a calm but steady Sunday afternoon and only just now the fog cleared to reveal the Sun still warming us. If you know me, then you know I love fog. Nevermind it blocks the light, I find it fascinating, ominous and absolutely cinematic.

But I love it even more when it dissipates, like magic, often too sudden, like a kid who is scramming away after realizing he did something wrong and father Sun is about to reprimand him.

A hazy light is shining over Portland. Just came back from a photo shoot with a gorgeous, down to Earth high school senior at Laurelhurst Park. Off to work, boo. But before I do, and the too early darkness arrives, I marvel at the specular highlights created by the glass bottles on my window sill.

Little moments of Sunlight, I'm guessing they will carry my through the Winter.

A 50mm View of My Life

View from my mattress. I finally have a mattress. A REAL mattress. No boxspring or frame, but a simple mattress on the floor will do wonders for my sanity.

5 Things to be grateful for:
01. My busy email inbox.
02. Past clients booking more sessions
03. Listening to Broken Social Scene on a near-rainy Portland afternoon, on my way to work.
04. Being recognized for my good ethics at work
05. To live in a town full of so many wonderful people.

Things are working out tremendously. I make a little prayer at night for the safety and health of my loved ones. I want them to experience all these great things with me, even form far away. Oftentimes I wonder if something bad will happen to me, because how else can I be so lucky?

The Wests are in love.

I have to admit, pretty much all my portrait subjects I've had since I moved here have been wonderful. But every now and then you come across a family whose love is simply amazing. Such is the case with The Wests, whom I met at the Alberta Street Fair and booked a session with me for a few weeks after. Papa Jeff couldn't be at the first session so we photographed again with him onboard. If it were up to me, I would be their daily photographer.

Little Eloise. "uppie!" "owie" were her favorite phrases. She also runs in a really cute manner!

Sweetheart Elena. DARLING baby.

Playing and running and tickling!

Ahhh I love my job.

So, I am a foot freak.

footfetish.jpg

So... apparently, I have a foot fetish. I seem to point my camera towards my subject's feet a little too often. What up with that? Do I need to receive medical attention now? Hmm? Hmm?

Anyways, enjoy my fetish!

Double the cuteness (and tulle!)

A pair of 1.5 year old twin girls.
Two pink tutus.
Two pairs of to die for black shoes.
Two sweet little smiles.

Why, I believe these two girls together might be cuter than cupcakes!

Having rained for almost 7 days straight, the sisters were just a liiiittle too thrilled to finally be outdoors with their mama and cousin. They jumped, they twirled, they walked back and forth and for a brief moment stood in the same spot together!

mmmm such cuteness, too much to handle!
