Please HELLLLLLPPPP

cuartoayuda02.jpg

Please help me. My bed/workroom is a disaster. Mostly everything is still in boxes (under the big table on the left), fabrics and unattended crafty things lie on this table. My editing workspace is a small 2.5x2.5 rickety table I bought at a thrift shop. Reason says to move my computer system into the big table, but then all the crap on that table would have to go somewhere. I can't store things in the basement because... well... that thing is unfinished, as in foundation is exposed. I am CERTAIN flesh-burning spiders live down there. A funny over-hyper dogs resides in the house, so storing things anywhere downstairs is out of the question, as well.

I get frustrated. Anything that, in a hurry, I leave in a convenient place will only make matters worse, as everything is still so messy. I am contemplating renting a very small office next year where I can edit my photo work AWAY from my BEDROOM. It just drives me insane. I can't afford to buy brand new shelving or things like that, so I'm down to thrift shops and free stuff on craigslist.

Someone help me organize this. Give me ideas, please. It's really really really really frustrating.

Thank you, you are awesome!!

get a metal frame for your bed. you can probably find one on CL for free or get one for about $15. then, get some under the bed storage boxes (at bed bath and beyond or the like). put all of your fabric, etc in there, and pull it out only when you want to use it.

my other suggestion is large clear tubs that you can store under the table. clear is key- that way you can see what's in there before you dig through them. all of this type of stuff goes on sale right after xmas (since people need to store their stuff), or use a 40 percent off coupon at Joann's.

good luck!

also, the dollar store has all kinds of baskets and bins for, you guessed it, a dollar!

Is your luggage empty? I store my fabrics in my luggage. My first thought was to buy a bed that had storage underneath but then I noticed you said you don't want to spend anything. The giant bottle of Jergens makes me giggle for some reason, it looks bigger than your whole computer. I would recycle some of the empty boxes. Maybe sell some of your fabric stash (gasp) on Etsy and purchase a cheap shelf from Ikea for your binders, papers and photos? I organized 2 of my neglected closets yesterday and I feel so good now.

Shelving keeps everything accessible, but neatly put away - I have learned a lot from Montessori classrooms. I also keep fabric inside luggage.
