The Summer Social
About two months ago I participated in a most fantastic gathering of wonderful local artists, The Summer Social, organized by a girl with the warmest of hearts, Abby Powell from the blog abby try again. It was four hours of goodie sales and pure Summer fun!
I am finally blogging this. Because I am WAY behind.

My duty was to snap Polaroids of our guests. It was too much fun!

Yes, it was as delicious as it looks. Baked by my homie, Summer Gibson.
We had Abby selling her photo prints and Alyson debuting her new letterpress line, Postal Press. The talent in that room was radiating!
Little things that brighten up my day, any time.
I encourage you all to visit our Flickr group to view images taken by guests and vendors alike. I know Summer is ending and these images may make you sad, but don't be sad! Be happy you lived through another Summer, hopefully a beautiful one for you, your family and friends. Be happy the Holidays are coming up soon and hopefully we will all spend it with those who make our lives worth the rain and gloom.
Let's make plans for next Summer! Me? I would like to take up on Sarah Sovereign's offer and road trip Canada with her! And make it back in time to attend Abby's next Summer Social!

Eeeeek, too cute. So sweet I could just die. You are so very lucky to have such wonderful people in your local area. And you had such a wonderful summer, I admit, I lived vicariously through you when the weather was chillsome here (I'm in Australia). Can't wait to see how you celebrate the cooler seasons!

Amy!! I'm doing my thing where I stop in after not being here forever and swear that that is going to change and I will stop in on a regular basis!! I've moved you up in my bookmarks so maybe I'll see you and remember a little more often than I do now. I have the worst memory!!
Anyway, these pictures are fabulous and the Summer Social sounds like so much fun!! I'm in love with all the dresses as well. I wish I was there!
I was also just reading your post about how you've been in Portland for a year now. It's so inspiring how you just picked up and moved there without knowing anything! I would LOVE to be able to do something like that! It's a little difficult, being married and having a kid, but maybe someday.. I think we will be moving somewhere new when Brock graduates, but it most likely depends on where he can get a job. I keep telling him Portland is at the top of my list!!

oh, sigh... that makes me miss summer a lot. I met you briefly that day & since have been checking out your blog :) We've still got the sun in PDX, but that hot, hot, hot feeling of summer seems to have passed with a swap for cool, cool mornings.
p.s. I love the photo of the two girls in striped dresses - how serendipitous!
