yay fabrics!

Luuurrrvely fabrics bought at JoAnns. Which reminds me I need better fabrics. For reals.

I say For Reals way too much. Probably sound like an idiot.

A wallet....a very EMPTY wallet

wallet01.jpg

Right now as I plan my very first Star Magnolia collection, I am also trying out new patterns, and this wallet is one of them. It needs a pocket for change and a clear plastic for the ID. Have to try the checkbook version as well. :D

Swan Bag Giveaway (Sorta)

Nevermind! Sold to the lovely Denise from Warm-n-Fuzzy.net! Congratulations!

Hello! It has recently come to my attention that for some unknown reason this lovely bag has not been sold yet every time I display it at the craft fairs.

So, I decided to just sell it dirt cheap to my blog readers! The price is $10, shipping included (even international)! whoopeee!

It is made out of burgundy corduroy, the lining is a lovely blue + brown print and of course, it features beads and sequins, because it is not a Star Magnolia bag if they're not splattered all over the design. ^_^ It measures 8.25 tall, 5.5 wide and 3.75 deep. It's very roomy!

The first person to email me (amynieto at gmail dotsy com) and send payment (only PayPal will be accepted) gets it!

Oh and did I mention you get a $10 Gift Certificate for Star Magnolia.com?!?!? Flippin' sweet! Act quick(ly?)!!

Listen to the Music

Ooooo a finished bag, you say?!? Why yes it is! Rejoice!

I had started this lovely vynil tote a few months ago for one of the fairs, but time didn't side with me, so I wasn't able to complete it until last weekend! And quite frankly? I love it. I wanna keep it. But I won't be selfish like that. So I am unleashing it unto the world.

Though I think I need to take some better pictures before I load it up to the store (yes, I'm nitpicky like that).

I am so hAwT. ^_^

Ha! Take THAT, Sinus!!!

Working steadily, producing pretty wristlets, despite my reckless nose. *mean face* grrr you meany*

Right... on to business!

This lovely white vynil wristlet, top stitched to form leaves and flowers, is actually quite roomy. I could fit my cell phone, an assortment of IDs, empty bank cards, a couple dollars and a small mint box. All fitting with no struggle. Pretty neat!

collage_whiteflower.jpg

This one is more of a coin or ID purse. Me being the ultimate surfer-wannabe I topstitched some funky blue + green waves, plus the purse itself is shaped like an oval. Because surfers are totally into oval shapes like that. Dude.

The separate parts for this square-bottomed wristlet have been cut since, probably May. But for some reason, I drew a blank with the design. I couldn't figure out what to grace this awesome aquamarine color with. Finally, all the pieces fell together, fake orchid + sequins + thread, to form this ultra cute wristlet/make up bag/shindig. Quite roomy as well, it can even hold my camera, celly and a thin wallet!

The girl is back in town!!

So many little bags to show today. For once in a long time, I feel productive.

Hooray for quickly approaching deadlines! (And to Rafa!)

First off, a white vynil tote bag finished three days ago. It is very mod-ish with aquamarine and lime green square cutouts, criss crossed by straight stitches. Another square is cut out from the back, showing the lining fabric (not literally).

This is a very chic handbag, sophisticated, yet colorful :)

HAHA! My pose and face are exactly the same as the previous entry. A great career in mannequin modeling awaits me, for sure!

Le Flying Petals

This entry will be short for fear of shooting myself in the foot.

Finally finished the lovely Flying Petals vynil tote bag. You can see the inside zipper pocket, for that added professional touch! I'm really in love with this baby, and I want to keep it. But of course, I shouldn't.

Also finished another swanky ass cool bag, but pictures will come tomorrow :)

Oh so yellow -coin purse!

In light of my recent failures with zippers, I decided to try a different approach. Partly inspired by Miss Stitch Pixie's amazing vynil bags and a zipper pocket tutorial over at Craftster, I let the zipper out in the open to form a small vynil coin purse. Exposed and totally vulnerable.

And I quite like it.

I miscalculated the opening though, and so the zipper is whack (what else is new). But I quite enjoy the technique and how it turned out.

Four down.

FINALLY! I guess waking up earlier does pay off! (and by waking up early I mean waking up at noon). Assembled four loooovely bags in 8 hours (my self-assigned daily worktime) (of course, interrupted by a million fridge breaks, that consist in opening the fridge and oddly enough, not chosing anything to eat. Quite the funky habit, I must say).

Back to topic...oh isn't Bob so adorable and cute! Yes, his eyes are still not painted. The roomy wristlet with the lime green music note was a headache. I still can't work zippers quite the right way. Now I probably have to undo the whole thing in order for the wristlet to look decent. *sigh* But my greatest masterpiece (bear with me, please) is the ultra awesome and spunky pink-note-upon-white-vynil tote bag, seen at the top right!

workinprogress_july12.jpg

Sequins were needed of course, but I thought they didn't belong in the front with the note. So what did I do? I placed them on the back! Along with my darling stitched star trails.

Here's hoping for another four (or more) completed bags tomorrow!

Gosh, these are the worst pictures I've ever taken. Please forgive me.

Ahh Disco Stu, your suave smooth ways have not gone unnoticed by me. Keep on dancin', my man!

In other news, Crafty Amy has discovered the neverending marvels of the coolest material in the whole wide world: vynil! It is so awesome, and the good vynil quality kind ($10 the yard, eek!). Got plenty of ideas swirling about this crazy hollow ball of mine that some dare call head!

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Grand Lady of All Summery Vynil Prettiness!
