Been around the world and I I I...

Ohh poor little Bob, freezing your arse out. Go back inside, fool!

norwaybob.jpg

This amazingly cruel picture brought to you by the most awesomest and coolest Norwegian I have ever met in my life, Bard! This Summer he had the exquisite opportunity to sail the piratey Caribbean seas and made a stop in Puerto Rico to collect his pricey booty (like Pirate booty, u know), which included a handmade Bob the Angry Sixtopus.

It was one of the highlights of the Summer, finally meeting my long time Internet buddy (and by long time I mean 5 years) in person! And his grandma presented herself to me as Grandma. How cute was that, seriously!

Here's to more Norwegian Bob adventures (perhaps in your new London town, eh, Bard? *hint hint*)

Bob becomes solid...

*Dr. Weird's voice* BEHOOOOOOLD!!
Bob the Sculpeyd Angry...Quintopus?

Yes, poor Bob tragically lost yet another tentacle, this time via my own stupid hands. Okay so I'm no expert at sculpey at all. For one, I can't get the surface to be smooth and nice, not be an CSI investigator's fantasy with all my fingerprints oh so clearly visible, come on! And the head needed to be fatter. Still, not too shabby for my first try! Hehe he looks cute! *giggles*

Last night I (sorta) started to draw a mini-book featuring Bob's story so that I can include in every order. I always have to explain the story behind the character to people at the fairs, this way I'll just hand them the little bookie.

AAAANNDDDd my crazy/awesome Room*e and I joined forces to create a series of funny sea characters, all friends of Bob...but I musn't disclose too much, for we are still in the early stages of pre-production. I can only say one thing: The Seaweed Sushies. And that is all for today. :D

Bob Patrizio

Horay for crafty trades! Last Friday I received yet another super awesome crochet Bob from the super talented Marilyn Patrizio. It's so snuggly and playful, it's a wonder he's angry!

bobpatrizio.jpg

For this picture I dusted off my old Delorean and went back in time when Bob was just a googley eye wee baby, then traveled back into the present (after saving the world and burning a certain sports almanac*) and took the exact same picture but with a grown and more mature (but still angry, apparently) Bob. How adorable!

He's really really squiggly! But also kind and sweet. :D

Thanks Marilyn and Donielle, you gals are t3h aw3som3! Visit Marylin's blog for more wonderful plushies (and check out her current octopi, they're too funny!)

*Yes, been watching too much Back to the Future lately. But can you blame me!

I got an uncle who sells sewing machines. Yeah, it's called "SEW THIS!"

I am staring right now at my brand new Brother XL-2600! w00t w00t! Unfortunately, SCAD is bloody evil and I haven't had time to play with it yet. So, it's just chillin' there. Me happy, though!

On that note, why are sewing machines nowadays so ugly? Remember them old machines? Man, those were cute! Still, here's my new baby:

Oh! And as promised, I introduce to you, Bob the Crocheted Angry Sixtopus! I have absolutely no skills in knitting and/or crocheting, so super duper awesome *Turtle Kisses* made a mini Bob for me! Didn't she capture Bob's expression so perfectly?

Despite the Absolute Suckfest that was Yesterday, today wasn't such a bad day after all. Minus the exhausting heat. I spent all day yesterday looking for turf for a photo shoot. Only one place sells turf here in Savannah (apparently), and it's a billion miles away. So I settled with that turf-like golf course material, like so:

Yes, I actually shot that neat little photo! That snazzy bag was actually bought at Banana Republic for a mere $79.99.

I am sooo returning it this week.

Write me Pretty

You knew very well I wansn't going to stop at just bags. I've been wanting to print cute nifty stationary for a long time now, so I whipped up this quick Bob the Sixtopus design on Photoshop (Illustrator was being a bad monkey). Unfortunately, the aquamarine color printed as turquoise blue. If I had my good Epson printer with me, I'd have nice accurate colors. Grr.

Still, I think it's rather nifty and Roomie like the date feature. I wonder where can I get them printed for less than $1.25 per 8.5x11 sheet.

Le Bobs!

Uuu can't wait to stuff all these cute felt Bobs. There's plenty of other colors, like uh, tangerine, sly blue, fuschia (the felts' actual names). The yellow Bob is made out of vynil and will be featured in a lovely brown vynil bag.

So exciting!

The life and times of Bob the Angry Sixtopus

And because I'm in a blogging-frenzy kinda mood, share I will (heh) my printmaking relief final project. The images chronicle Bob and his family's whimsical adventures. Unfortunately, carving unto the linoleum sheets is a more time-consuming task than I had originally scheduled to be, and so I could only finish six squares. SO disappointing. I binded what I had into a cute little book (with the help of Professor Rich Gere's awesomeness and generosity), but the book lacked more images to form a cohesive story. It turned out to be just random Bob images, which made me sad and incomplete. Oh well.

Still, here are some of the squares I made. I think they're cute and funny.
